IDG recently completed a ground investigation including:

  • Trial pitting & trenching to enable in-situ geotechnical testing, & obtain environmental & geotechnical bulk samples,

  • Rotary probeholes to assess risks from shallow mineworkings

  • Cable percussive boreholes to obtain undisturbed soil samples to inform foundation and earthworks engineering design parameters and to enable installation of groundwater monitoring wells.

  • Gas & groundwater monitoring to inform foundation design, floor slab construction & ground gas protection measures.

The findings have to date enabled provision of a detailed Foundation Schedule, taking into account the influence of numerous mature trees which border the site and which will be retained.
